
Annette O'Toole was raised in Houston, Texas at the dance studio of her mother. She made her television debut at the age of 2 in the form of a young child on The Don Mahoney Kiddie Trooper show. She was 13 when, after ten years of singing and dancing lessons in her past, she and her mother traveled on a journey to L.A. for a year to see if she could pursue a career in show business. Within two months she was offered her first position: dancing with Danny Kaye on The Danny Kaye Show. The actress says "I am able to use my experience for dancing and singing in a variety of ways." "The mental discipline gained from that is wonderful for actors." O'Toole's first role in My Three Sons was followed by parts in Gunsmoke and The Mod Squad. She was also on Hawaii Five-O, The Mod Squad, The Partridge Family. In the past, she's performed in more than forty episodes Despite all the success in television and films her greatest love remains the theatre. In the six years since her time on Smallville concluded, she decided to concentrate on theatre, which she has been doing for the past decade. Since moving in New York, she had her debut performance as a seagull in The Sea Gull. She has appeared in several Off-Broadway productions. Among them are Adam Rapp's Kindness, Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska as well as Tennessee Williams' A Lovely Sunday For Creve Couer.
